| Night featuring Mattoni ruled in Prague |
 |
For the first time the runners of Mattoni Grand Prix competed after sunset. The premiere night race on five and ten kilometre routes was overruled by the runners from Kenya, however, the winner was everybody who finished this special race. Energizing mineral water Mattoni Active came in handy for runners in a cool autumn evening.
The family of the fresh world champion Roman Šebrle became the uncrowned sovereigns of the evening. The children named Kačenka a Štěpán came with their daddy to support their mum Eva on female five kilometres and in-between cheering they were joyfully “playing havoc” in the VIP sector, together with their father.

This year, for the first time in thirteen years of the history of the Prague International Marathon, no native from Africa run through the finishing line the first. The winner was Helder Ornelas, Portugal, who get rid of a group of favoured Kenyan runners and triumphed in the hot weather doing it 2:11:49.
The runner (30) had already won the Milan Marathon but he missed the field full of quality African runners. In the first half of the track, a numerous group keeping the pace below 2 hrs and 10 min was in the head but Ornelas was not among them He and his coach made an agreement that he would do slower until the half-marathon and after that, he would get fast. It was worth the effort. The Kenyans were loosing. Kibiwott , the last year half-marathon withdrew from the first place some 10 km before the finish because the gastric troubles and in the conclusion Ornelas managed to shake off Chelim, beginner on the marathon track. The champion title defended Pavel Faschingbauer, the seventh eventually, but his dream of making the World Championship limit faded out in the hot weather.
The favourites were not getting on well in the women race either. The top one of them, defender of the champion title, Alina Ivanovova had to withdraw due to an unusual problem. She made a mistake having applied too much warm-up ointment on her body and in the hot weather she was overheated. A path to the victory was thus free for another Russian Nailiia Julamanova.
It was for the second time in history, that a Czech competitor – Veronika Brychcínová- got on the victory rostrum. Although she is new among the marathon runners as she is a representative in lacrosse. Thus she was one of the very few among 4,200 runners who did not mind the hot weather. Numerous refreshment stations made the race more passable where nearly 450 hectolitres of Mattoni water for runners and spectators.
The most famous marathon runner Emil Zátopek (+78) widow, Dana Zátopková (84), the Olympic games winner in javelin throw did not miss this year of the Prague International Marathon. He happily watched the followers of her husband on the track, sipping a special marathon drink. She was surprised to hear that was mixed from the official marathon mineral water Mattoni, anis syrup, limes and mint by Kateřina Sokolová (18), the new Czech miss and vice-misses Veronika Chmelířová and Veroika Pompeová.

| 1/2 Marathon Prague 24.3.2007 |
 |
Patrick Mutuku Ivuti, Kenya, was the winner of the Prague Hervic half-marathon on Saturday.
The organisers´ ambitions for a world record went soon rack and ruin due to the strong wind. However, the winner improved the historical best performance in the race and did it in one hour and one minute sharp.
Reaching the finish line by women was more dramatic. Liliia Shombuchovová, Russia, defeated Kwambai, the defending champion from Kenya, only in conclusion, when nearing Rudolfinum. „It was my debut, I just wanted to try a longer track,“ explained the indoor 3-km European champion.
The best of the Czechs Faschingbauer and Kamínková failed to make the limit for the October World Championship in road run. The series, the official partner of which is Mattoni, will go on in May with the Prague International Marathon
